Annual EPTA meeting against the backdrop of the energy mix

Angers (Francia)Oficina C attends the annual meeting of directors of EPTA, under the chairmanship of the French parliament through OPECST, which is recognised for its professionalism, transversal approach and its influence in the parliamentary arena.
Oficina C participated in the meeting of directors of the European Technology Assessment Network (EPTA). The meeting, which brought together representatives from 20 member offices, was held on 12 -13 May in Angers (France), under the chairmanship this year of the French Parliament through OPECST (Office parlementaire d’évaluation des choix scientifiques et technologiques).
During the meeting, developments in parliamentary scientific advice were discussed, with a focus on three OPECST-promoted studies on nuclear energy, research integrity and plastic contamination. Common challenges faced by member offices, such as institutional changes and electoral processes in several countries, were also addressed.
It was confirmed that the year's central theme will be the transformation of the energy mix. Greece will assume chairmanship of the network in 2026.
The programme included technical visits to reference centres: the Institute of Investigation for Horticulture and Seed Research, Vegapolys Vally competitiveness cluster, the French Institute of Vine and Wine, and the Food Products and Processes research unit.
The OPECST model stands as a benchmark for its professionalism, thematic transversality and capacity for impact in the parliamentary sphere. Oficina C considers it essential to deepen the dialogue with OPECST to foster institutional cooperation.
